You’re noticing changes in your aging parent’s health or memory and know you need to have “the conversation” soon, but you’re unsure when or how to approach it.
You feel unprepared and anxious about the road ahead, wondering if you’ll be able to handle the emotional, financial, and logistical challenges.
You’re navigating the profound shift from “adult child” to “parenting your parent,” struggling to adjust to a role reversal you never saw coming.
You’re overwhelmed by complex eldercare decisions, from understanding dementia to choosing the right care options or figuring out Medicaid, so you second-guess every choice.
Legal and estate planning feels like a maze, and every article you read only adds to the confusion, making it impossible to know where to start.
You’re lacking spaces and places in your personal and professional networks where you can share about caring for elderly parents and receive trusted guidance, not random opinions.
You’re neglecting your own well-being because there’s no time left for self-care, and you wonder how other women seem to balance it all.
You feel isolated in your eldercare experience, like no one truly understands what you’re going through or how exhausting and emotionally draining it can be.

Like 70% of sandwich generation family caregivers, I was thrust into a role I never saw coming. To say it rocked my world is an understatement. So, I built the support system and resources I wish I’d had back then.
Like almost 50% of family caregivers, I'd received no formal education, resources, or support. I'd felt alone in making life-altering decisions about someone I loved deeply, armed with only conflicting information and overwhelming uncertainty. Living Goldenwell was born to empower women stepping into eldercare to gain know-how, clarity, and real support.
Caring for elderly parents is one of the hardest and most heart-filled responsibilities. But it shouldn’t come at the cost of your own well-being. That’s where Caregiving From the Middle comes in.

Why risk unnecessary stress, exhaustion, and uncertainty when a better path exists?

I regret not finding you sooner! I spent 12 years caring for my parents, sacrificing my high paying career in the process. It was an incredibly challenging experience, and my mom passed away just five months ago. Although I have no regrets, I'm now facing the frustrating reality of being considered 'old' to re-enter my former career. It's disheartening to see how poorly our country supports caregivers.
It’s so energizing to connect with someone who not only gets it, but is doing something meaningful about it. What you are building is so needed, and I love that you are creating a premium, curated space for women who are navigating this chapter, not just another noisy corner of the internet.
I have successfully tried to connect with others in the same situation and what worked was encouraging them to TRY new things and seek unfamiliar faces to get the best outcomes. I think your focus on this is absolutely amazing...
This is essential for professional women balancing work and family demands. I gained crucial strategies for managing my own and others' emotions, which was especially helpful as a long-distance caregiver. By applying the concept of curiosity, I unlocked deeper, more open communication with my dad. A truly encouraging and effective program…highly recommended!
After my dad’s dementia diagnosis, I was lost. Kathleen helped me map out a clear care plan, set boundaries with my siblings, and breathe again. I’m not just surviving—I’m leading with confidence.
Meeting Kathleen at a local community event is what first inspired me to join Living Goldenwell. Her passion and commitment to helping women navigate the complexities of caregiving and eldercare immediately stood out - it’s such important and meaningful work.
What I’ve appreciated most since joining is the quality of the community itself. It truly feels like a safe, supportive space to ask questions and receive thoughtful, valuable guidance - not just a flood of opinions. The resources are incredibly well-curated and genuinely helpful.
I would absolutely recommend Living Goldenwell to any woman supporting aging parents or navigating eldercare. Having a trusted community like this has made a huge difference as I navigate care for my mother.
In the middle of it
Hi all, my mom had a fall on Sunday night just a tiny little fall in her living room and taking her back to urgent care this morning to find out if it's a broken wrist or not. I was just telling Kathleen last week that my mom is in pretty status quo mode - crazy how quickly things can change and of course, even though I have two brothers I'm the one picking up the pieces to navigate care and support. It's funny how there is some part of me that is like of course I am in charge for this and OK with that... but so hard to not let little resentments build..... that's all just reminded that I'm not alone by having this group thank you, Kathleen.
As a single mom caring for my mom with early-stage dementia, I felt invisible. Caregiving From The Middle made me feel seen, heard, and supported. It gave me language for the burnout I’d been silently suffering. I now have a plan and a support system I trust who truly gets it. It's been life changing!
What you have built is a safe space to allow women to feel and be ‘human’. No hidden agendas, no fake smiles…just the ability to be authentic and real. Being a caregiver is one of the most “thankless” jobs as you are doing it, making this circle and environment priceless. Congratulations!
I didn’t even know what I didn’t know. Caregiving From The Middle breaks everything down—insurance, aging, dementia knowledge, self-care and wellbeing—and gave me tools to feel capable and confident.
Before working with Kathleen, I felt like I was drowning—managing my mom’s dementia care, raising two kids, and juggling work. I didn’t even know I was part of the 'sandwich generation' until she named it. Her caregiver coaching gave me practical tools, emotional space, and clarity. Now I feel more in control and far less alone.
This community is an invaluable resource for support, expert advice, and genuine connection. Honoured to support this mission and the women behind it!
Before joining Kathleen’s program, I didn’t even realize how much I was internalizing—resentment, guilt, burnout, all of it. I was snapping at my kids, avoiding conversations with my siblings, and walking on eggshells around my dad, who has dementia. I felt trapped in a role I didn’t choose but couldn’t walk away from. Kathleen helped me name what I was feeling and gave me real tools to express myself without guilt.
One of the biggest shifts? I finally had the hard conversation with my siblings about sharing the load. For the first time in years, we’re on the same page—and I don’t feel so alone anymore. This program gave me more than coping strategies; it gave me my voice back.
Thank you for providing such a safe, warm, and welcoming place to share such intimate family details. It is a rare gift. I am grateful.
